As I began to dive further into my inquiry, I recognized the importance of existing research and theory in helping to frame my observations. The cross between student voice and deliberate arrangement of seating brought about numerous questions needing explored. Through examination of the literature, I gained a better understanding of how other practitioners have successfully implemented a variety of seating arrangements for various purposes. Their research, in conjunction with theory centered on student choice, informed a number of my questions to be explored throughout this portfolio.
